Juries were used until 1965 when postal voting was introduced - and from 1964 a single popular artist performed all of the songs. In 1967, following a poor result the previous year, the BBC ditched crooners in favour of mainstream pop stars. Also from this year onwards, A Song for Europe was incorporated into Rolf Harris, Cilla Black and Lulu's regular weekly shows.
