Comments: I thought Eurovision was suppose to be a SONG contest?! How can anyone justify why Ukraine won? How can you compare that to Serbia & Montenegro's Zeljko Joksimovic? Zeljko was absolutley amazing and we all know that Zeljko was the real winner. And what is with countries singing in English? I thought Eurovision SONG contest was about Europe coming together and showing one another a piece of our culture, language and traditions through music.

Comments: Hi all. This is a great site. My comment on the Eurovision is that Greece should be number 2!!! Zeljko is not bad as well but missing on the beat. Ukraine deserves to be number 1. Shame the Bosnian guys did not come any higher. Keep on the good work. Turkey thank you for giving us such a wonderful show.

Comments: What a fantastic site! I came here from the BBC, and I have spent the best part of an hour looking at all of the idets. In about 50 minutes, I have become a complete convert from one of those people who says "Not another one of those bloody scenes in between the programmes," to someone who has become addicted to the idents. I had forgotten about those early BBC News 24 flag sequences.

RW replies: The BBC News 24 flags (also used on BBC World) were a great, original concept which made a refreshing change from the usual cliched use of the globe in news title sequences

Comments: Hello from Denmark First of all i like to say that you have a great site about the eurovision songcontest. And some funny pictures. I only want to ask you about a few things. First of all if you dind't liked the danish entry in 2000, why did you then gave it 12 points ?. And if you don't like the Junior Eurovision Soncontest, which was a danish idea. I then simply just can't understand, why you were taking part in the contest. Sorry if i don't ride perfect english, we can't all be as perfect as the english people ha ha ha. Buy the way i really hated the english entries in 2000 and 2003.

RW replies: The opinions in the Eurovision section are of course entirely personal - I can't speak for the nation as a whole! As for Junior Eurovision, it's worth pointing out that the BBC did indeed turn down the chance to participate, which is why ITV took it on instead

Comments: It was interesting to see how television and radio has changed over the years, and what seems to have worked and not. There were several incidents I remember, others that I didn't know anything about (I am a child of the 80s... or is that the 90s?), and I think you've done a good job of keeping a trial of various parts of the BBC from the beginnning to the present; it'll be interesting to see how the BBC changes in the future - I imagine you'll keep updating the website in the years to come? Keep up the good work. :)

Comments: Altavista found you, but not Google. An excellent resource. We wanted to date some photos and the only clue was blurred copy of RT in background. Could see it was an Xmas special but not date. Turned out to be Xmas '96. Many thanks, the site is clear and easy to navigate.

RW replies: Glad to be of help. By the way, TV & Radio Bits is all over Google and Altavista!

Comments: I heard today (on the news) that 2 of the original members of BUCKS FIZZ (When they were bigger than Butlins) were brought ashore by a North Sea Trawler, they'd been under the illusion that they were cod and Thursdays began living neath the waves in a land of make believe. I'm hoping to go and see them this summer if my mum lets me out, if anyone fancies joining me please meet me in the Kitchen (because then I know you will be able to stand the heat - in the kitchen). I love Jay Ashton the most.

RW replies: So now we know...

Comments: What a superb site! Virtually everything you wanted to know about the BBC but were afraid to ask dear old Auntie! We continue to wonder why there's a distinct lack of information on any BBC, ITV (London Weekend) sites regarding the chat shows originator in the U.K. simon Dee. Try looking for Dee Time! Even Channel 4's site doesn't comment much despite the Dee Contruction and the Dee Time shown on December 29th! Why were so many Dee Time tapes 'wiped?' Watch this space for other questions in this conspicuous by its absence feature!
